Some men are redeemed. Others simply become more complicated.
Sebastian St. Michel has been called a “tasty hell snack.” Love him or hate him, this charismatic bad boy has slid into more than one dark fantasy lover’s heart.
But let’s start at the beginning…
Sebastian first appeared as a sexy-but-dangerous villain in the second book of the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery series, Through the Door.
Like John Templeton (one of his enemies), Sebastian is a Salesman and can door travel.
He comes from an old, moneyed family—in fact, his family owns the official bank of the Salesman Empire. It’s also revealed that he’s involved with the Fringe, a rogue terrorist group of Salesmen. He wields considerable power.
Separate from his family, Sebastian owns a restaurant (spoiler: Zenith) in downtown Matar and two nightclubs: one in Matar and later one in Vue. Matar and Vue are cities in the Empire.
In Through the Door, Emily introduces Sebastian to the reader.
Sebastian was disturbingly attractive, with wavy brown hair so dark it was almost black. It hung down a breath below his collar. Thick eyelashes framed heavy-lidded, brown eyes. The devilish smile hadn’t left his lips. A wicked, yet perfectly groomed, mustache and goatee accented the olive skin of his face. The Van Dyke didn’t make him look like a ridiculous hipster. Instead, he looked like a rock star…
Sebastian returns in book three of the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery series, Doors Wide Open, as a ruthless and violent adversary. Main character Emily Swift describes Sebastian as “unhinged as ever.”
But in the last chapters of that book, Emily gets her revenge on this series’ villain.

After the Below
Sebastian reappeared in the dark fantasy Bellerose Witchline series, with a small role in the first book, A Thin Witchline Between Love & Hate. However, in the second installment, Crossing the Witchline, he plays a significant role alongside main character, Lucie Bellerose.
As the book’s tagline indicates, it’s complicated.
In Crossing the Witchline, Lucie observes:
…He’d showered and changed clothing at the cabin—of course. Gone were the stupid blaze orange tee shirt and the basketball shorts. The new outfit was trademark Sebastian: a long sleeved white tee shirt and a pair of low-rise bootcut jeans. He’d run product through his wild shaggy cut and trimmed up the facial hair around his lips so meticulously it looked like an artist’s rendering. He sauntered around the end of the counter and opened the refrigerator. Sebastian was taller, too. My gaze lowered to his feet. He’d slipped on a pair of boots.
“This is so bad,” I exhaled, noting the two wine glasses waiting on the counter, a bottle opener beside them. I pulled off my jean jacket and laid it over my purse.
“We probably have 10 minutes before the sushi gets here.” Sebastian didn’t miss a beat. He pulled the white wine from the refrigerator. “Shit, you like that calamari salad, don’t you? I didn’t order any.”
“You’ve got to stop this.” Oh, my god. He was still crazy. I was wrong earlier. Just because Sebastian wasn’t acting insane didn’t mean he wasn’t…
Did this bad-boy-turned-something-supernatural earn redemption in the Bellerose Witchline series? Depends on who you ask.
Sebastian will return in book three, Walking a Fine Witchline.
