🧚 It’s the day before the #FairyTaleMe22 challenge over on Instagram hosted by author Elle Hartford! My own D2D crew – comprised of Door to Door Paranormal Mystery and Bellerose Witchline characters – is meeting at Zenith. Everyone’s getting together at Emily Swift’s request. They think I don’t know, so shh. 😉
Emily Swift placed six chairs around the table in the rented party room at Zenith, one of the hotspot restaurants in downtown Matar.
She glanced at the clock as three of her guests arrived.
“Don’t tell me there’s another Turvy?” Lucie began. Annoyed, she tossed her bag on the table. “I just lived through Brown’s last storyline and I need a freakin’ break.”
Emily shook her head. “Nope! This one’s all me. Brown doesn’t even know what I’m doing. I took over her Instagram feed.”
“What ARE we doing?” Rabbit asked. His curious eyes flicked to the door as Big Rabbit entered. “Your message said something about a fairy tale?”
“Wait, does this have to do with the ‘Empire Tales for Children’?” Lucie interrupted.
“No, this is a fairy tale inspired challenge hosted by @ellehartford on Instagram. It should be fun!” Emily held up a clipboard. “I have all the prompts here. We simply ask and answer questions from August 1–13. Easy peasy, no drama.”
“I know who Elle Hartford is!” Tara’s face it up. “She has a book coming out on August 12th. It’s called ‘Beauty and the Alchemist.’ People have been coming into my bookstore and asking about it.”
“That’s the one,” Emily nodded.
“And cutie scholar Luca is a part of Hartford’s world,” Tara added. “He’s a fellow bookseller.”
“And your interest in him is totally academic?” Emily raised an eyebrow.
“Completely,” Tara winked.
Emily sensed when Templeton door traveled in behind her. She spun around and beamed a bright smile at the surly Salesman. “It’s good to see you, Templeton. I’ve missed you.”
He blinked at her before turning and frowning at Lucie. “What does she mean?”
“It means we’re in for a long two weeks,” Lucie grumbled.
“Oh, stop,” Emily admonished. “Look. I even sat you two by each other.”
“Place cards?” Rabbit picked up a folded piece of cardstock.
“I like it,” Big Rabbit said as he settled in. “It’s fancy – and Sebastian’s name isn’t on any of them.”
Emily gestured to the chairs. “He’s not invited. Take your seats. We’re ready to begin!”
🧚This challenge runs from August 1 – 13! Stay tuned as tomorrow the first prompt is: “What’s your favorite fairy tale?” (That post is now available – click here!)
Readers – Not on Instagram?
That’s okay! I’ll be sharing my Instagram posts daily here on my blogsite AND daily on Facebook at Writer Tracy Brown so you can read them there, too. Make sure you check for a new story every day from August 1st through August 13th!
What’s This Mean for Door to Door & Bellerose Witchline Characters?
I’ll be dropping Emily Swift, Lucie Bellerose, Templeton, Rabbit, Tara, and the rest of the crazy crew into a story matching the fairy tale “prompt of the day” from the challenge.
If you ARE on Instagram, make sure you’re following me at https://www.instagram.com/WriterTracyBrown/ to see the posts there! But again, as long as you check out my blog list or my Writer Tracy Brown page every day, you can read all the short stories without Instagram. 🙂
