It’s day 10 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday Templeton and Lucie Bellerose heated things up on stage. Today we find out what might happen if you tick off a witch. Here we go…
Writer’s note: Today’s Topsy Turvy TV Tour prompt is the classic show, Bewitched. I thought about this program as I considered what I might write for a scene. Bewitched’s Samantha was terribly easygoing, don’t you think? I loved the show, but I always wondered what would happen if everyone’s favorite TV witch got mad.
I mean, my favorite witch (Lucie Bellerose) is no wilting flower – and she does NOT tolerate bad behavior.
Therefore, I’m taking some liberties with today’s prompt.
From Doors Wide Open – Book 3 in the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series – publishing this fall. A scene with Emily, Lucie, and Templeton:
…Lucie sighed. She lifted her palm and mumbled a few words. I felt the air around us grow lighter. “You can come in, Templeton.”
The Salesman took a moment to compose himself on the brick sidewalk before climbing the stairs back to the brownstone. Lucie and I each stepped aside, allowing Templeton to saunter in between us.
“And what do you say?” I prompted. I was still giddy over Lucie getting the better of him.
He ignored me. Instead, he faced Lucie. “You finally patched the crack in the ward. It took you long enough.”
Lucie considered Templeton, her mouth twisting to the side. “This isn’t the first time you’ve tested it, is it? You’ve slipped through it before.”
His smile mocked her. “It is not the first time I’ve tested it.”
The sound of glass shattering somewhere deep inside the townhouse startled me. Lucie didn’t seem to notice – or if she did, it didn’t show.
“Don’t attempt to come into my home uninvited again, Templeton,” she said evenly. “Emily might tolerate your bad behavior, but I will not. You do not want to cross me.”
Lucie turned and stalked down the hall leading to her kitchen.
For the first time, I sensed something dark inside my friend. There was a hint of rage swimming in her eyes that I’d never witnessed. Lucie always seemed so even keeled. I glanced at Templeton to gauge his reaction. He’d dropped the hollow smile and watched warily as Lucie disappeared around the corner.
… Tune in tomorrow as Door to Door characters take a bite out of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. 😀 (That post is now live! Click here.)
