🧚 It’s Day 11 of the #FairyTaleMe22 writing challenge on Instagram! Yesterday, the D2D crew discussed their fairy tale challenge – and things got awkward. Today the prompt asks: What is your fairy tale symbol? A rose, a mirror, a slipper? If you had to pick, what would it be?
Emily checked the clipboard for the next prompt. “Cool. What’s your fairy tale symbol?”
“This should be pretty obvious for all of us.” Lucie lifted a hand and snapped her fingers. A spark skipped up into the air.
Emily began to fidget with the caption area of the Instagram post. “Ooh, let’s do it in emojis!”
“That would be a good way to keep the post short. You’re as long-winded as T.L. Brown,” Tara said.
“Here, I typed in everyone’s name. I’ll pass around the phone and everyone put in their fairy tale symbol as an emoji. I went first.” Emily handed the phone to Tara.
Emily: 🎩
Tara: 📚
Rabbit: 🐇
Big Rabbit: 💪
The phone was next passed to Templeton. He scowled at the screen. “I should be the top hat.”
“Both of us can be a top hat.” Emily rolled her eyes.
“Or you could be a…” Lucie’s voice trailed off as she smiled and motioned to his hand. “Maybe you could give a hint on A Thin Witchline Between Love & Hate spoiler?”
“No.” His mouth pressed into a tight line. A beat later, he smirked. “Maybe.”
Templeton: ⚡
Lucie took the phone from his hand and nodded. “A bit abstract, but it works, Templeton. I like it. Alright. I’m going to put in fire for me. Oh, I’ll add an emoji for Flame, too.”
Lucie: 🔥
Flame: 🐈
“Good idea,” Emily said. “And there we have it! We’re awesome.”
Lucie held the small device, staring at the screen. She gave her head a tiny shake. “It’ll avoid having to listen to him b*tch about it later,” she mumbled.
She tapped into the phone.
Sebastian: 😈

That’s okay! I’ll be sharing my Instagram posts daily here on my blogsite AND daily on Facebook at Writer Tracy Brown so you can read them there, too. Make sure you check for a new story every day from August 1st through August 13th!
What’s This Mean for Door to Door & Bellerose Witchline Characters?
I’ll be dropping Emily Swift, Lucie Bellerose, Templeton, Rabbit, Tara, and the rest of the crazy crew into a story matching the fairy tale “prompt of the day” from the challenge.
If you ARE on Instagram, make sure you’re following me at https://www.instagram.com/WriterTracyBrown/ to see the posts there! But again, as long as you check out my blog list or my Writer Tracy Brown page every day, you can read all the short stories without Instagram. 🙂
