It’s day 16 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday Emily Swift and crew were guests on a popular TV chat show. Today they find themselves in a show about nothing. Here we go…
(This is a derivative work based on the TV show Seinfeld.)
Emily poked her head into Templeton’s dressing room.
“Did you ever find out if this Topsy Turvy thing was the Word Charmers having another go? Did you get any info?”
Templeton flipped through the latest script, scribbling with a red pen as he turned the pages. “Yes.”
Emily waited. Finally, she stepped into the room. “And?”
“I couldn’t find any evidence of a new spell.” Templeton looked up, a wicked smile floating over his lips. “And she was quite generous with her… information.”
Emily snorted. “Who? T.L. Brown?”
Templeton grimaced. “Of course not.” He returned his attention to the script. “You may leave now.”
“I hope they cast you as Newman,” she said as she left.
Later, Emily met up with Tara on set: a one-bedroom NYC apartment.
“Don’t you think it’s weird that none of us have met the casting director?” She poured cereal into a bowl. “I really wanted to be George.”
“Because you lie a lot,” Tara nodded, running her fingers through her ‘hair.’ Make-up gave her a wig they dubbed Hipster Dufus.
“I don’t lie. I mean, it’s not really lying if you believe it, right?” She took a bite of her cereal. “I just really liked George.” A buzzer sounded. Emily pressed the intercom. “Yeah?”
“It’s me,” Lucie’s voice came from the other side. A few minutes later she strolled through the door, followed by Big Rabbit.
“What’s all this about?” Emily flicked her finger up and down at the oversized Rabbit. He wore a t-shirt with the Rhino Vomit logo stretched tight across his massive chest.
Lucie rolled her eyes so hard her head almost tumbled off her neck. “Meet my new boyfriend. Putty.”
“I did NOT see that coming,” said Big Rabbit.
“What are we doing in this episode?” Lucie asked. She raised an eyebrow at Tara’s bad wig.
“Apparently it’s a scene about nothing,” Emily tilted the cereal bowl and drank the remaining milk.
Lucie scrunched her nose at Emily. She turned to Tara. “Well? You have anything to add?”
Tara slapped a Benjamin down on the countertop. “I’m out!” 😉
