It’s day 27 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday the casting director spied on Emily Swift and crew via hidden cameras. Today Emily shows Templeton what was found on the thumb drive. Here we go…
(This is a derivative work based on the TV program Doctor Who.)
Emily eyeballed the big blue police phone box sitting in the middle of the set.
She circled it, her fingers dragging along the sides as she looked around. She was alone.
Emily hiked her shoulder bag over her shoulder and pushed through the doors.

Emily stepped inside the TARDIS, spinning in wonder as her gaze ran over the consoles of buttons and lights. She looked up. It was massive. “The Enterprise has nothing on this bridge,” she breathed.
“I’m impressed with Rabbit’s resourcefulness,” said Templeton as he descended the stairs. “He was able to locate the real TARDIS.”
“You mean the one used on the Doctor Who set?”
He flicked an irritated look in her direction. “No, I mean the actual TARDIS. Try to keep up.”
“Whatever.” Emily sat her shoulder bag on a chair and rummaged through it. She pulled out a thick stack of paper. “You need to see this. One of Rabbit’s crewmembers hacked into files stored on a thumb drive I found.”
Templeton sighed as she handed him the bundle. “It’s a copy of the Doors Wide Open manuscript. And?”
“And I think you should look at pages I tabbed. I saw the final copy. This new one has a lot of changes – and they’re not in our favor.”
“It is your last book, maybe she’s killing you off.” Templeton smirked.
Emily ignored him. “Check out the ending.” She pointed with her chin. “I know Brown intentionally brought Sebastian back for this book, but she wouldn’t have ended it like… that.”
The Salesman reviewed the scenes Emily had tabbed. He frowned. “Where did you find the thumb drive?”
“Casting director’s desk. Seriously, should we be concerned?”
Templeton passed the manuscript back to Emily. “Brown already uploaded her final files.”
“So, you’re not worried?”
“I never worry.” Templeton picked a bit of imaginary lint from his cuff. “But our ‘casting director’ should.”
