It’s day 28 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday Emily Swift showed Templeton an altered manuscript of Doors Wide Open. Today Emily and Tara Parker-Jones talk about some strange happenings on the set. Here we go…
(This is a derivative work based on the TV program Stranger Things.)
The sound of skateboards in the parking lot caught Emily’s ear while she was looking for her friends.
She pushed outside into the sunny-but-crisp autumn air and watched as several Rabbits performed tricks while gliding back and forth.
Tara sat on the curb, legwarmers stretched from her ankles to mid-thigh.
“I don’t think that’s how they’re supposed to be worn,” Emily said, sitting beside her friend.
“I don’t care. I’m cold.” Tara glanced over at Emily. “Nice 80s hair.”
“Too big?” Emily reached up and touched her teased hair. “I found one of Brown’s high school photos and went off of that.”

“I showed Templeton that altered copy of Doors Wide Open,” Emily said. “He seemed unconcerned.”
“You know, Em,” Tara began. “I wouldn’t have been worried but I found out Marley was hiding a demodog he named D’Artagnan in his dressing room. That’s bad behavior in a bookstore assistant.”
Emily stared at Tara. “I have no idea what you are talking about. Demodog? Marley has a new pet?”
“It’s in today’s Topsy Turvy script,” Tara whispered.
“Forget about the Topsy Turvy! We have bigger problems,” Emily argued. “I think Sebastian is getting ready to turn up again – and apparently he has some plans of his own for the last book.”
Tara shrugged. “He can only do what he’s been written to do.”
“I don’t know,” Emily watched as a young Rabbit wiped out in the center of the lot. He laughed with his friends as he climbed to his feet. She rubbed a hand over her mouth. “I think we’ve been too complacent. I have a feeling the Fringe is getting ready to do something big. I feel like they’re already 10 steps ahead of us.”
“I think we have to see the Topsy Turvy through first.” Tara let out a whoop when one of the male Rabbits rolled on by.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Emily rose to her feet. “I’ll catch up with you later.”
… Tune in tomorrow as…. Zombies? (New post is up! Click here.)
