It’s day 29 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday Emily Swift and Tara Parker-Jones discussed strange things. Today Emily, Tara, and Lucy Bellerose blow off the Topsy Turvy. Here we go…
“Zombies?”
Tara’s nose wrinkled as she read the script. “Remember when vampires were the sexy beasts of choice?”
“They still are,” said Lucie. She tipped the bottle and refilled her friends’ wine glasses before replenishing her own. “Sexy, that is.”
“I’m not about any monster.” Emily sipped her wine. “I’ve had enough monsters of the people kind this past year. Which is why we’re scrapping today’s Topsy Turvy choice and drinking wine instead.”
The trio sat in Lucie’s kitchen. The brownstone was only a short walk from the studio and the autumn weather was sunny.
“We can do that? Just chuck it?” Tara checked her phone out of habit. She shook it. “Gah! I hate that these don’t work in the Empire.”
“Unless you’re using the Rabbit network,” Emily replied. “Anyhow, I talked to some guy named Lucas Rathbone. He’s been acting on another set during this Topsy Turvy thing. He says if he doesn’t like a script, he just doesn’t do it. No big deal. So, I thought I’d take a page from his book and say: nope! No zombies!”
“Works for me,” Lucie leaned against the counter. “What are we going to do instead?”
“Drink wine and share this.” Emily pointed to the Instagram screen flashing up on Lucie’s wall.

PROLOGUE: Templeton held the Polaroid between the pads of his thumb and forefinger, the oil from his skin blurring the date on the space left for captioning. Two sweet faces laughed up at him: a young teen and her mother enjoying a sunny day in the park. The girl was maybe 13 years of age, with a wide smile and a tangle of long hair blowing in the breeze. The laughter she shared with her mother reached her eyes and they sparkled in the stiff Polaroid paper. He sensed her innocence. Without intending, Templeton let a wisp of his power drift out and twist across the universe to pluck a thread from the child’s disposition and drew it back in front of his mind’s eye. He studied the impression he pulled to him. This was a joyful girl…
