đź’ŞIt’s Day 3 of the #TurvyTruthOrDare Instagram writing challenge! Yesterday Rabbit helped make things easier for Templeton. Today Big Rabbit faces something worse than the Truth: His opinionated girlfriend. Here we go!
“This has been fun already!” Big Rabbit grinned as the crew returned to the party room.
“Yes, an absolute joy.” Templeton searched his sleeves for lint.
“This is going to set him back two books,” Lucie mumbled as she watched.
Big Rabbit clapped his hands. “First, I have a phone for everyone –and no, they’re not network phones. Don’t try to use them. They’re Turvy-spelled and will only work on day six. Carry your phone on that day. Brown’s orders.”
“Why do we listen to her again?” Emily asked.
“Author egotism requires it,” Lucie replied. She curled up on the end of a couch.
Big Rabbit continued. “Brown says I’m day three. What am I doing? Truth or Dare?”
“Truth,” his girlfriend answered.
“I think Templeton is supposed to decide,” Emily said. Templeton remained focused on his compulsive lint hunt.
“He’s picking Truth,” Rabbit’s girlfriend repeated.
“Truth it is!” Big Rabbit cheerfully picked a card and read it aloud. “Admit my Achilles’ heel.” The massive man looked up. “I don’t think I have one.”
Sebastian snorted.
“Is there a problem, cockroach?” Big Rabbit’s demeaner switched to menacing in a flash.
“Aren’t all Rabbits momma’s boys? Sounds like an Achilles’ heel to me.” Sebastian dug two green olives out of a jar, plopping them into a martini glass. He poured in chilled vodka from the shaker and added a dollop of the brine juice. He made eye contact with Lucie. “You still like it dirty, right?”
“Perfect, a martini!” Tara zipped past Sebastian, snagging the cocktail. “I think Lucie’s more interested in the wine,” she said over her shoulder.
“All Rabbits respect their mothers.” Big Rabbit’s face had reddened. “Mine is a saint.”
“The saint of always needing something,” Big Rabbit’s girlfriend scoffed.
“There’s nothing wrong with expecting help from your children!” Big Rabbit forgot Sebastian. “Besides, women are special. They need to be taken care of.”
“Oh, we do, huh?” The woman lowered her head and looked up at Big Rabbit from under her brow, her eyes sliding into a solid black.
Sebastian popped an olive into his mouth and watched the action unfold. He was enjoying this game.
Tune in tomorrow to find out if Tara can narrow it down to the truth… (That post is now up! Enjoy reading it here.)

That’s okay! I’ll be sharing my Instagram posts daily here on my blogsite AND daily on Facebook at Writer Tracy Brown so you can read them there, too. Make sure you check for a new story every day from March 31st through April 7th!
What’s This Mean for Door to Door Characters? I’ll be dropping Emily Swift, Lucie Bellerose, Templeton, and the rest of the crew into a story matching the Truth or Dare “prompt of the day” from the challenge.
If you ARE on Instagram, make sure you’re following me at https://www.instagram.com/WriterTracyBrown/ to see the posts there! But again, as long as you check out my blog list or my Writer Tracy Brown page every day, you can read all the short stories without Instagram. 🙂
