Day 4, #TurvyTruthOrDare, Tara Parker-Jones, TRUTH

📚It’s Day 4 of the #TurvyTruthOrDare Instagram writing challenge! Yesterday Big Rabbit faced off with his girlfriend, today Tara Parker-Jones must admit a crush or two. Or three. Or four… …here we go!

“I’m day 4,” Tara announced.

She looked at Big Rabbit. He was still defending himself to his girlfriend. She took the top Truth card from the deck. “Since he’s too busy to pick for me, I’m choosing Truth.”

“What’s it say?” Emily pawed through a tray of cookies delivered earlier.

“Admit a secret crush.” Tara looked up. “Just one?”

“Or maybe we go around the room and make people admit their secret crushes?” Emily shrugged, still fingering all the cookies as she searched for something with peanut butter.

“I like the ‘go around the room’ crush idea,” Sebastian chimed in. He smirked. “#Temptington, why don’t you go first?”

“You know,” Tara began, cutting off Templeton before he could reply. She fixed Sebastian with a surprisingly mean look. “You’re just jealous you don’t have a sexy hashtag.”

“Oh, but I do.” He strolled across the room and sat in a chair at the poker table. He fiddled with a deck of cards and gave her a toothy grin. “It’s #BigBaddieSebastian.”

Tara tapped her chin with her index finger. She pursed her lips. “Wait, you DO have a hashtag. Isn’t it #SebastianIsADouche?” (Here Tara breaks the 4th wall and winks at author Shari T. Mitchell.)

The smile slid from Sebastian’s face.

“Alright, that’s enough, children.” Lucie wiped her hand across her forehead. “Tara, admit a freakin’ secret crush so we can move on.”

“Well, they’re not really that secret. I don’t believe in sitting back and waiting.” Tara started counting on her fingers. “Currently I’d say, author Saffron Amatti’s Tommy, author Shari T. Mitchell’s Tom –”

“Hey, sandwiches!” Rabbit announced as the server brought in another tray.

“Exactly,” Tara nodded. “Sexy Tommy-Tom sandwiches. Who else? Oh, I do like that Jay guy from Jennifer Brasington-Crowley, but he’s hooked up with Cayman. Hey, Rabbit, how’s Handsome doing?”

“Who’s Handsome?” Lucie asked. She reached for her wine glass. Rabbit moved it away, handing her a sandwich instead.

“Another Rabbit from book 2, Through the Door,” Emily answered.

Tara was still listing crushes. “Luca from author Elle Hartford seems like a sweetie, and author Helen Garraway’s Birlerion is swoonworthy…”

“This may be a while,” Emily groaned.
