It’s day 6 of the #TopsyTurvyTVTour over on Instagram! Yesterday Emily Swift, Tara Parker-Jones, and Lucie Bellerose attended a roaring 20s white tie affair. Today Emily and Tara stroll onto the scene in Miami Vice. Here we go…
(This is a derivative work based on the TV program Miami Vice. No specific episode chosen.)
A rolling tom followed the hi-hat before the electronic drum kit filled in. A lightly distorted guitar built out the mood as a synthesizer took over the melody.
“I think that’s our cue,” Tara said, poking her head out the dressing room door. “Who are we again?”
“I’m Sonny Crockett and you’re Ricardo Tubbs,” Emily replied, flipping through the script. “Oh, gross. We find a dead guy sealed inside a wall.”
“Don Johnson is hot.” Tara paused in front of the mirror, examining her double-breasted blue suit. “But I love Tubbs’ wardrobe. Can I take some of these outfits home?”
“No idea,” Emily answered, rolling up the sleeves on her white blazer. “But yeah, Johnson’s definitely sexy. Um, do you think we’re spending too much time discussing men and hotness these days?”
“Never,” Tara replied.
Fade out, Fade in…
Emily and Tara, a/k/a Crockett and Tubbs, sauntered outside under the Florida sun. Another pair of well-dressed detectives crossed the pavement, the heat rising and blurring in front of them.
“You have GOT to be kidding me,” Emily crossed her arms. “No way, I saw the script. I’M Crockett.”
Templeton lowered his Raybans, his eyes combing over Emily’s clothing. “You’re a poor imitation of the original.” He leaned closer. “But your five o’clock shadow looks good.”
Emily lurched forward, her fingers flexing as Rabbit, a/k/a Tubbs number 2, slipped between them. “Okay, killer. Apparently, there’s been a mix up.”
“I think I like your suit better,” Tara frowned. She touched Rabbit’s sleeve and rubbed the material between her thumb and forefinger.
A black Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet glided past, the dark-haired driver cocking his head to the side as he rolled to a stop. He turned, contemplating the four from behind a pair of dark aviators. His lips curled into an evil smile.
Emily’s hand drifted to her throat. “What’s Sebastian doing here?”
The driver barked out a laugh before tromping on the gas, squealing the tires and leaving two black stripes on the pavement.
… Tune in tomorrow as Door to Door characters slip into a wild card mystery TV show! (Now posted! See Emily, Rabbit, and Templeton in Magnum P.I.!)
