🔥It’s Day 6 of the #TurvyTruthOrDare Instagram writing challenge! Yesterday Sebastian was challenged in a Dare, but admitted a “Truth.” Today Lucie gets put on the spot. Here we go!
Everyone was quiet.
Lucie blinked several times, swaying and suddenly sitting down in one of the chairs at the poker table. She grew pale.
“What’s going on?” whispered Tara.
“I have no idea, but I hope someone kills Sebastian someday,” Emily answered. Tara startled, eyeing her friend. She realized Emily’s heart had hardened since she turned 30. A lot had changed.
“Now where were we?” Once Sebastian started talking, it was hard to get him to shut up. He continued to stare at Lucie. “Who has day 6? It’s either you or Emily.”
Lucie set her slip of paper on the table. “It’s me.”
“Guess I get to pick for you.” His eyelids dipped, a long finger tapping the two stacks of cards facedown between them. “This feels familiar, doesn’t it?”
Lucie ignored his question and cleared her throat. “Which one?”
“Truth,” he replied, snagging the top card and reading it to himself first. Another wicked grin split his lips. “Lucie, the question of the day is… Drumroll, anyone? Other than your ‘partner’ – whoever that pencil d*ck is supposed to be – who, Ms. Bellerose, who in this room have you kissed?”
Lucie’s gaze bounced from Sebastian, to Templeton, then Rabbit. Her eyes cut back to Sebastian. “I’m not answering this.”
“Okay. Why don’t we help you out?” Sebastian held the Truth card between his middle finger and his thumb, spinning it in a circle with the index finger of his other hand. “Show of hands. Who in this room has been kissed by Lucie?”
The loud wail of the restaurant’s fire alarm blasted into the room.
“Good grief!” Emily put her hands over her ears.
“I think it’s the fire alarm,” Tara yelled.
“No kidding,” mouthed Emily, wincing.
Rabbit yanked Lucie up from the poker table, dragging her toward the emergency exit. Big Rabbit shooed Emily and Tara out the door while his girlfriend picked up the tray of sandwiches and followed.
Across the room, Templeton’s faded blue eyes lost the rest of their color as he glared at Sebastian. Neither man budged from their chairs. Sebastian flicked the Truth card in Templeton’s direction before blowing him a kiss.
The fire alarm’s incessant screeching continued…
Tune in tomorrow as it’s the LAST DAY of the writing challenge and Emily is THRILLED with her Dare. Too bad her friends are NOT. (That post is now available – click here!)

What’s This Mean for Door to Door Characters? I’ll be dropping Emily Swift, Lucie Bellerose, Templeton, and the rest of the crew into a story matching the Truth or Dare “prompt of the day” from the challenge.
If you ARE on Instagram, make sure you’re following me at https://www.instagram.com/WriterTracyBrown/ to see the posts there! But again, as long as you check out my blog list or my Writer Tracy Brown page every day, you can read all the short stories without Instagram. 🙂
