🎩 It’s Day 8 of the #12DaysOfTurvy mini writing challenge over on Instagram! Yesterday the crew ended up at a Karaoke bar. Today Templeton returns. Here we go!
Lucie finished singing, leaving the microphone with Flame. She crossed the room to Templeton.
“I wasn’t sure if I’d see you again today,” she said.
Templeton’s gaze lifted and he studied the group sitting at the table. Another round of shots was being delivered. “Looks like everyone you invited showed up.”
Lucie glanced over her shoulder. “It’s been a long day.” She refocused on Templeton. “Did you leave his cabin standing?”
At this, Templeton smiled wickedly. “No. It’s been completely destroyed.” The smile became a scowl. “But Brown will fix it. It’s a Turvy after all.”
“What happens in a Turvy, stays in a Turvy?” Lucie lifted an eyebrow.
“Sometimes.” Templeton put his hand on her elbow and guided her toward an Exit door.
“How did you know where to find us?” Lucie asked.
“Rabbit texted me.”
“Where are we going?” Lucie pulled away. “I need to get my coat.”
“Not for this.” Templeton reached for Lucie again, pulling her into his embrace right before his fingers grazed the Exit’s doorknob. His door travel energy rose in a thick blue wave around them. It swirled and as the door opened, it drew them through…
…Emily watched as Templeton broke one of the Salesman Court’s rules and door traveled with Lucie in tow. Door traveling in tandem with another was indeed possible, but unless the Court approved it, it was a big no-no. But Templeton only followed the directives that suited him. Emily’s eyes narrowed. Of course, he’d scold her whenever she didn’t obey the regulations placed on Salesmen.
“Ever door travel with someone?” Sebastian interrupted her thoughts.
Emily turned and considered the man she hated. She cleared her throat. “Yes. With Jo Carter before the Salesman Court recognized me.” She paused. “You?”
“Yeah, plenty of times.” He grabbed a handful of popcorn from a bowl sitting in the center of the table. He popped a piece into his mouth. “Most recently with Lucie.”
“You’re lying,” Emily replied.
“Nope.” Sebastian smirked, leaning forward. “Read the back of the first Bellerose Witchline book: Witches hide things.”
