This is such an exciting time!
I’ve received some questions about Door to Door’s launch, both online and offline. I thought: this allows me to create a great FAQ for the website!

What is the genre? – Door to Door is fiction. It’s a cozy-esque paranormal mystery with a female sleuth. If you like Janet Evanovich’s early “Plum books” or her “Wicked” series, you’ll probably like Door to Door.
Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer (with no fighting skills) meets Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum. It’s not a hard-boiled mystery. If you like movies like Amelie, this might be your speed.
Is Door to Door for kids or young adults? – The intended audience is adult, but I would say 13 and up would be okay. The main character is 30. Violence is not graphic, and swearing is generally limited to “damn.” There are a couple of mildly “suggestive” scenes; what most people see on TV is more revealing.
But yes, if I had a 13-year-old, I would let her read it. But to be clear: the book is not YA (young adult).
Is it only available as an ebook? – Door to Door is available as an ebook, a paperback, and an audiobook!

Can I order it from other places? – It will be up to libraries and bookstores (both chains and independent stores) to decide if they want to carry the book. Patrons can request that the book be carried at their library.
Do I have to have a Kindle to buy from Amazon? – No. You can download the free Kindle App to your laptop, your tablet, or even your smartphone. Then, register your device with your Amazon account. Then, order the ebook!
Are you writing a sequel? – Yes! Book two will be out in 2021. UPDATE: Through the Door is available now at these online booksellers. Book three, Doors Wide Open, can be found here.
Will there be an audio version? – Maybe someday! I do like the idea. UPDATE: Enjoy samples of Door to Door and Through the Door audiobooks here.
Does pre-ordering help you at Amazon? – No one asked this, but I’m going to pretend someone did.
The more pre-orders a book receives, the more likely a book will appear in Amazon search returns. It’s a lot like Google, right? The most popular, relevant content rises up in returns. So, whenever I announce a book for pre-order, placing your order right away really helps!
How can I help you make your book launch successful?
- Order the book.
- Tell others about it—you can share the book’s main link https://books2read.com/DoorToDoor in your social media channels with an invite to your connections to check it out.
- If you read the book, please provide an honest review on Amazon or wherever you purchased it. Positive reviews help with my “rank” and also help other readers decide if they should purchase the book!
