Last April, @jodimay15 (Instagram) started a cool challenge using the hashtag #WIPandTheSenses and asked writers to examine their WIPs (Work in Progress) through the lenses of: look, smell, hear, taste, and feel. I used it for my then WIP, Through the Door. (Now published on Amazon!)
This time I’m running my latest WIP, Doors Wide Open (coming later this year), through the original prompts.
Here’s my post exploring “smell” or “scent.” What you might smell – literally or figuratively – in Doors Wide Open:
Tuesday says “something smells rotten” in the high halls of the Empire’s Court. Frying onions in a cast iron pan. How can someone who smells this good be so evil? Lucie’s restaurant leftovers. Doors Wide Open. Campfire burnout. Polished furniture. Boiled coffee. The cloying scent of funeral flowers.
🎩 My WIP: Doors Wide Open – Publishing in later 2021! Emily Swift faces her biggest challenges yet in this fast-paced third installment from T. L. Brown. If you like paranormal mysteries, navigating portals into another world, and all sorts of weirdness and magic, the Door to Door Mystery Series is for YOU!
🎩 Door to Door (Book 1, currently 99 cents) & Through the Door (Book 2, on Kindle Unlimited) are out now! Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B093CJG3J4
