❤️ Thank you so very much to reader E. Frier for this 5-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review of 🎩Door to Door, the first book in the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series!
E. Frier writes: Entertaining Read – Emily Swift received a mysterious package. Included in the package is a note from her whimsical Mom, which stated that the enclosed book is her father’s work journal and might be of some use in the future. Emily’s father passed when she was a teenager some thirteen years ago. Why did it take so long for her mother to give her his journal? Being curious Emily began looking through the pages and discovered cryptic messages, strange places, maps, and references to people. She thought her father was a salesman, but it appears there was so much more to his life. Emily confides in her friend Tara that she needs/must find out what is going on, but doesn’t want to tell her live-in boyfriend Jack for fear he might stop her. Turning thirty is a milestone in Emily’s life. She doesn’t want a big to do, just her and Jack. She gets her wish and they celebrate at a nice restaurant. Emily notices a good looking gentleman at the bar who has been watching her. Without thinking of any consequences she tells Jack she is going to the restroom, but she makes a beeline to the gentleman. Emily confronts the gent asking if she knows him. He replies quit sparkly “you could.” She gets chills and retreats in a hurry to the restroom. When she returns to Jack a waiter presents Emily with a gourmet pumpkin pie and a chorus of Happy Birthday from the staff. Emily thanks Jack but he denies having anything to do with it. So who knew it was her birthday? The waiter returns to their table with a note he forgot to give her from a friend – a friend? The note wishes her a happy 30th and to enjoy her dessert, signed T. Jack asks who is T? She remembers a mention of a man named Templeton in the journal. Could this be him? Mr. T will play an interesting character in Emily’s life from now on. I really enjoyed this story. The characters are interesting, plausible, and delightfully quirky. There is a bit of magic, detective work, treasure hunting, sinister plots and deception nicely woven throughout. Oh, don’t forget the doors. They play a major role in the story. I recommend this book to everyone looking a nice distraction from everyday life.
