Tara Parker-Jones is the best friend of Emily Swift. She is introduced in the first book in the series, Door to Door, and plays a strong supportive character in the second book in the series, Through the Door.
Tara’s last name is not the result of marriage, but rather the result of parents with a bohemian flair. They each contributed a last name at her birth: Parker from mom, Jones from dad.
Stats
As the series begins, Tara is twenty-nine. She is described as a “tiny wisp of the thing,” with big, soft brown eyes with light eyelashes, and fair hair. The reader also learns that:
Tara, little unassuming Tara, had a hot little black book that would make most women blush. Men couldn’t resist her.
Work
Tara manages a store in Kincaid called Pages & Pens. The owner lives in Florida and gave her free reign over the store. Tara is a rare books expert and a savvy business person.
Quirks
Tara is a “terrible” flirt and is not above scheduling more than one date for a night.
She loves drinking Rooster Broo beer because she loves the slogan. 😉
