📌For those who may have missed my April 19 post

📌For those who may have missed my April 19 post: I'm pulling all of my books from #KindleUnlimited when their enrollment period ends. The dates are listed below. This was an incredibly difficult decision to make. If you have ever wanted to read my books in #KU, you can still read three of them through the program. You have until the following KU term end dates:

🎩#DoorToDoorMysteries:

Door to Door - No longer available in KU.
Through the Door - KU term end date: June 19, 2023
Doors Wide Open - No longer available in KU.

🔥#BelleroseWitchline:

A Thin Witchline Between Love & Hate - KU term end date: June 21, 2023
Crossing the Witchline - KU term end date: June 16, 2023

ALL books will still be available for purchase on Amazon, and I currently price my ebooks at 99 cents to $1.99 (USD), so hopefully, leaving KU will not deter you from reading them. Someday I might "go wide" and offer them in other legitimate places (B&N, AppleBooks, etc.).

I've been thinking about leaving KU for a long time. It came down to this:

IF my ebooks are listed on a book pirate site (i.e., STOLEN), it's possible that Amazon will view that as a violation (by me!) of their KU terms and remove my books from its website without warning. This has happened to authors. Books removed from Amazon, royalties lost, reviews gone. I'm not raking in huge royalties. The big issues for me come down to possibly having my books pulled from Amazon, losing reviews, and starting over from scratch.

Risk assessment weighs in favor of removing my books from Kindle Unlimited. I'm sorry to readers who count on KU for their books. I use the program as a reader, too, and I know how useful it can be. But again, I currently price my ebooks incredibly low (99 cents to $1.99 USD) so hopefully you will still be interested in reading them.

As an #IndependentAuthor, I spend more on the creation of a book than I make. I write and publish because I love to write and share stories. I encourage readers to continue their VITAL support of indies, and thank you for your important support - in purchases, REVIEWS, and cheering us on. 💗

This song is NOT for my current WIP but is on my fantasy soundtrack for book 1 in the series, A Thin Witchline Between Love & Hate. This song plays at the annual Witches Gala @LucieBellerose is forced to attend. Loren and Michelle Heatherworth also attended. While I chose this song for Lucie and Templeton, this certainly could transfer to Loren and his wife.

Loren is a close friend of Lucie’s late aunt. He took on the role of advocate for Lucie in the Congress of Empire Witches and advised her as a father might when she went to him for guidance. Loren is an elder in the Congress, and he and Michelle are natural witches.

RE: the scene below. I don’t know if this will make you cry, but if you only knew the depth of love Loren has for his wife and how not having her near breaks his heart…

…Loren returned to sipping his tea. Around us, the house was quiet. A mantel clock tried to fill in the space with its muffled ticking.

Realization struck me. “You sent Michelle away, didn’t you?”

“I did when we didn’t know what was happening,” he answered, clearing his throat before he spoke again. “I know I should bring her back, especially since I’m an elder and need to set an example, but…” His voice trailed off, and he shrugged. “Love can cloud judgment. In this case, I’d rather look like a fool than risk Michelle’s life. I will stay here in the Empire, but I will not let her come home until we know what caused the *spoiler*.”

Exhausted, I brushed off the forest detritus and sat on the felled log. I was cold, lost, and alone. I was no safer here than I was in *spoiler*. In fact, I assumed I was no longer in *spoiler* - I had no idea where I was. Hanging my head, my hands rested on my knees. I didn’t even have the energy to summon my witchline for help. I swallowed hard. My throat begged for water.

I heard the rumble before I saw headlights swing around the bend in the road ahead. An ancient red truck jostled its way over the ruts in the dirt road, slowing as it neared.

The dusky light making its way through the leaves overhead did little to reveal who sat in the driver’s seat as the truck wheezed to a stop. The window complained with a whine as it lowered halfway.

I blinked at the old man.

“Well, what have we here?” His face pushed through the open portion of the window, his long beard folding under his chin as it came in contact with the glass under it. “The Bellerose Witch, sitting in my woods.”

Struggling to my feet, I huffed out a weak laugh. “I didn’t think you drove.”

"I prefer my horse and wagon, but I evolve with the times," the Tortoise replied.
