Elaine Waverton

Elaine Waverton is first mentioned in the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

She is first introduced to the reader as a witch dining at the Congress of Empire Witches with Templeton.

Elaine reveals early in the storyline that she questions the success Lucie had when studying with Guillaume in France.

Michelle Heatherworth

Michelle Heatherworth, wife of Loren Heatherworth, is first mentioned in the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

Michelle is an older witch in her 70s and often serves as a supporter of Lucie Bellerose in the Congress of Empire Witches – and in general.

Lucie observes:

He (Loren Heatherworth) and his wife (Michelle Heatherworth) were in their 70s and lived in a wealthy, gated community outside Matar. Inside was a sizable witch population, with the oddball non-magical family home nestled into neighborhoods here and there. I’d visited the couple over the years and attended a few holiday gatherings. I think Loren and his wife Michelle thought it was their responsibility to make sure I had some sort of ‘family’ – especially around the holidays.

Loren and Michelle were part of the old guard in the Empire’s order of witches. When I needed a champion in the Congress to secure support for going to France, Michelle took to lunching with ladies while Loren shared his best Scotch with Congress influencers. I deserved to study with Guillaume but being a ‘nobody’ in the witch community was a hurdle. I never would’ve had a shot without the Heatherworths. I was in their debt.

Loren Heatherworth

Loren Heatherworth, husband of Michelle Heatherworth, is first mentioned in the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

Loren is an older witch in his 70s and often serves as a champion of Lucie Bellerose in the Congress of Empire Witches – and in general.

I liked the man. He was an old family friend. There was some connection between Loren and my late aunt. He and his wife were in their 70s and lived in a wealthy, gated community outside Matar. Inside was a sizable witch population, with the oddball non-magical family home nestled into neighborhoods here and there. I’d visited the couple over the years and attended a few holiday gatherings. Colette Bellerose

Colette Bellerose is Lucie Bellerose's late aunt and is first referred to in the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

Lucie was raised by her aunt after her parents died in separate accidents when she was young.

Lucie states:

My parents died in separate accidents when I was a child, and my aunt, Colette Bellerose, raised me. Aunt Lettie was my father’s sister and she passed away seven years ago. She’d never married or had children.

Rick Manning

Rick Manning appears in the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

Rick owns Coffee Cove and rents a room out to Lucie Bellerose where she reads Tarot cards for clients.

In the current work in progress for the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series, Lucie describes Rick as:

Rick Manning was a pleasant man in his mid-50s. Often you’d hear him cheerfully whistling in his office while he worked. According to his staff he was a good employer. The shop hardly had any turnover, and I suspected it was because of fair wages and the happy working environment. Rick owned several coffee shops around Matar. His wife managed one and a brother managed the other.

Guillaume

Guillaume is first mentioned in the third book of the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series, Doors Wide Open. However, Guillaume does not appear on the page until the first book in the Bellerose Witchline series.

Guillaume is a powerful witch living in France who occasionally accepts exceptional students, like Lucie Bellerose. Lucie spent a long year in France living with and studying under the “strict disciplinarian” prior to her first appearance in Through the Door (book 2 in the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series). He is a frightening force to be reckoned with and the Congress of Empire Witches often looks the other way with regards to his “teaching methods” because he produces “desirable outcomes.”

Lucie observes:

He’d changed little since I last saw him. His ash brown hair had a touch of additional gray, but it was still thick and combed back from his face in gentle waves. His eyebrows retained their full color, and the right one remained raised while he regarded my dress. The laugh lines at the corners of his eyes implied a sense of humor – a misleading facial feature. Guillaume’s square chin was covered with its perpetual stubble where the majority of gray made its appearance. The lips of his wide mouth were pressed together. I heard him breathe in through his aquiline nose as he prepared to speak.

Guillaume cut a nice shape in his tux. At 56, he was more fit than many men half his age. He maintained his body with a control only mastered by such a strict disciplinarian. He earned his share of appreciative glances from the witches around us.

Guillaume in Doors Wide Open

In an argument between Lucie and Templeton in Doors Wide Open (the third book in the Door to Door Paranormal Mystery series), the reader learns Lucie traded something of importance – something that will likely land her in hot water with Guillaume:

Templeton didn’t acknowledge Rabbit. Instead, he addressed Lucie. “When the Congress of Empire Witches learns of this, you will be punished.” Templeton spit out the last four words.

“Lucie? What is he talking about?” Rabbit’s nose twitched.

Lucie muttered something about expecting a simple life in Matar. She glared at Templeton. “Guillaume gave it to me. Directly. If you know what it is, Templeton, then you know who he is. The Congress is the least of my concerns. I’d appreciate it if you kept this to yourself.”

Rabbit mentioned the same name when we were at the Tortoise’s cabin. “Who is this Guillaume?” I asked. No one answered and Rabbit gave me a nudge.

“And you don’t think he’ll find out?” Templeton was incredulous. His hands landed on the countertop across from her and he leaned angrily toward Lucie. “I can’t believe you’d do something so foolish.”

“I’ll deal with him when he does,” Lucie snapped at him.

Sebastian St. Michel

Sebastian St. Michel (villain) first appears in the second book of the series, Through the Door.

It is revealed he is a Salesman. The reader learns he comes from an old, moneyed family in the Empire. He wields considerable power.

Sebastian returns in book three, Doors Wide Open, as a dangerous and violent adversary.

In book three, Emily describes Sebastian as “unhinged as ever.”

Sebastian also makes an appearance in the Bellerose Witchline Series.

Rabbit

Rabbit is introduced in the first book in the series, Door to Door, and plays a strong role in the second book in the series, Through the Door. It’s in book two that the reader is introduced to a darker side of Rabbit. Rabbit returns in Doors Wide Open in a critical role, bringing the Rabbit Network into a lot of the action.

Rabbit becomes a loyal friend of Emily Swift in book one.

(Rabbit also appears in the Bellerose Witchline Series in a significant role.)
