The Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series has earned great reviews from Goodreads and Amazon readers.

5 out of 5 stars – 3rd installment blew me away!
Doors Wide Open is the third book in the Door to Door trilogy and once it takes off, you won’t want to stop, so be prepared to pull an all-nighter! Brown is at her best in this high-stakes, fast-paced thriller starring the magical, mystical door traveling Salesman, Emily, her favorite nemesis Templeton, and my favorite woodland creature, Rabbit. Add in a sinister foe and an evil high priestess, not to mention a witch and book nerd and a Big Rabbit and a Tortoise and moms and boyfriends, and you are in for a whirlwind adventure that keeps going until the last page is turned.
The creativity in this story blew me away. When I thought the previous two installments were inventive, I wasn’t ready for all of the “new doors” to be open in the finale. And although the story was wrapped up in a very satisfying way, let it be known that while Emily’s story may have come to an end, author Brown definitely has not, so readers rejoice! There is more magic to come!
– Jennifer Brasington-Crowley, Author and Amazon / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – I couldn’t put this book down
I started reading Doors Wide Open as soon as I finished book 2 (Through the Door), because I couldn’t wait to see the mysteries of this magical world unfold.
The author managed to create an action-packed story without sacrificing character development, and it’s been a delight to discover (some of) the secrets these characters were keeping from us (Rabbit and Templeton, I’m looking at you guys).
Templeton is my favorite “frenemy” and personally I really enjoyed getting to know him better. I’m thrilled that he’ll come back in the next series T.L. Brown is working on (I’m really hoping for some #templucie content here).
This book really has everything: mysteries, murder, romance, plot twists, magic, pizza, and even a cameo from my favorite fictional rock star.
Highly recommended!
– Elen Chase, Author and Amazon (Italy) / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – T.L. Brown has done it again!
I want to scream from the rooftops, I love the Door to Door series so much! T.L. Brown has a gift for writing dark and dangerous scenes without being morose, action that has you on the edge of your seat, chemistry – so much chemistry, and characters you’ll fall in love with. Literally! Templeton (swoon), is now on top of my book boyfriend list.
All of this creativity is wrapped up in an award worthy series. Netflix, Apple TV, HBO – someone needs to make this a series. The best part of Doors Wide Open, and all of T.L’s other books, is how magical they make me feel inside. This cozy mystery series will give you the warm fuzzies. It’s a true, feel-good read. I cannot boast about it enough!
– Jessica Cantwell, Author and Amazon / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Brilliant conclusion to a charming series
Wow! Writer T. L. Brown has saved the best for last in this charming and exciting mystery series.
The stakes are raised right from the start when Emily’s friend is murdered and the authorities turn a blind eye. This sets Emily and co on the path to daring and dangerous adventures, where new alliances are formed – and old friendships tested to breaking point.
Not only that, the villains of the piece really reveal their true wickedness, which is sure to send a shiver down your spine.
The ending is perfect, and beautifully unexpected, and there’s an intriguing hint at a new series to come, which I’m already looking forward to.
– Saffron Amatti, Author and Amazon (UK) / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Five Stars for Doors Wide Open
T.L. Brown has written a worthy capstone to her Door to Door Mysteries with Doors Wide Open.
The fast paced, action packed and twisty storyline is the perfect ending to the trilogy. And, while it’s challenging to do, Brown also completes believable and satisfying character arcs for her side characters we’ve come to know and love such as Tara, Rabbit, Templeton, and Jack.
Where main character Emily Swift was understandably confused and unsure in the first book in this series, Door to Door, she is courageous and in control of her powers (mostly) now in Through the Door. In fact, Emily is the thrust behind this mission [Doors Wide Open] to finally shut down The Fringe. Emily fits the image of the heroic protagonist nicely, saving herself, as well as her friends, in this exciting ending—or is it simply a new beginning—to the Door to Door Mysteries.
– Brook Peterson, Author and Amazon / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Brilliant!
Doors Wide Open concludes the Door to Door trilogy and it’s absolutely brilliant! I loved every single word, reading it in one sitting. Mystery and intrigue blend perfectly with action and adventure and the pacing is spot on!
– Rachel Stanley, Author and Amazon / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Spellbound
I loved Book 3, Doors Wide Open! I love the characters who keep me in suspense of what’s coming next, and Emily always throws everyone a curve as she can’t stay put long enough. She keeps everyone on their toes trying to keep her safe. Love Big Rabbit whose in charge for awhile, but she even outwits him once or twice. Loved the way Brown ends the series and although you are sorry to see that, its a sweet ending but you want more of this group aka as Templeton, Lucie, Emily, Rabbit, Tara and the others. A perfect ending. I’m thrilled there’s another series with Templeton coming in 2022!
– Linda, Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Loved it!
I loved all 3 books, and their ability to take me to magical places. I am sad I finished book 3. I will miss Emily and her adventures. I also will never look at doors the same way!

Big Rabbit
Big Rabbit is introduced in the third book in the series, Doors Wide Open.
He is sent by Emily Swift's loyal friend Rabbit to keep her in one piece – and in one place – until Rabbit can reach her.
Stats
Like all Rabbits, Big Rabbit is fair-skinned, with black, wavy hair and dark brown eyes.
Emily describes him as:
He was most certainly a Rabbit – but it was as if he’d been supersized. He wore black work boots with his dark jeans tucked into them. A red logo bearing the name Rhino Vomit – a death metal band that wrote a song for my mother – decorated the black tee shirt he wore. The top was stretched tight across his brawny chest. A mass of jet-black curls covered his head, flopping in front of his brown eyes as he nodded and gestured toward the door. He had to be about six and a half feet tall and at least 250 pounds, but probably more.
Best Line
“Rabbit said someone hurt you and if they try again, I should crush them. May I come in?”
Food
Like all Rabbits, he is a vegetarian. He has a HUGE appetite. He also likes to cook.

5 out of 5 stars
Merciful heavens, but Emily’s life is getting more confusing by the minute!
In this second installment in the Door to Door series, T.L. Brown throws us right into the thick of things from the opening pages. With her characteristic wit and humor, we find ourselves right back in the world of doors and magical objects and people who are definitely not all that they seem… This book brings out a lot more history – of Emily’s mother, of The Fringe, and of the magic that infuses the Empire. It really enriches the running storyline behind Emily’s quest to learn more about her father’s life – and, surprisingly to her, her mother’s! – and the world(s) that they inhabited, unbeknownst to Emily. I particularly enjoyed finally learning more about Lydia. She’s an enigmatic but loveable presence in the first book, and watching her story unfold in this second was a joy and a pleasure. She’s everything I imagined and more, and her personality permeates this installment.
I thoroughly enjoyed the new cast of characters – both friend and foe – and the ambiguity behind which is which. The carryover characters, particularly Rabbit and Tara, enjoyed additional focus and depth this time around – much to my delight – and are definitely shaping into formidable presences in their own right. And of course, there was more Templeton! For most of the book, he’s more of a lurker-in-the-background, but even when he appears to be laying low you *have* to know that he has his fingers in every available pie and is quietly playing his cards to optimal effect.
The plot in this one is, by necessity, more of a slow-build – at least as far as the long-game story is concerned. That’s the job of a second book in a trilogy, after all, and that is a job handily met and dispensed with here. But make no mistake – this is no plodding fill-the-gaps book. It is an adventure full of giggles and gasps and everything in between. Brown has a marvelous ability to write in a voice that feels like classic straightforward storytelling even while layering in deception, secrets, and mysteries long-held and long misunderstood. It makes for a read that is easy to fall into and feels deceptively simple – right up until some new element is parsed out and the plot, as they say, thickens. It makes the book a heck of a romp and one you won’t want to put down until it’s finished!
I’m so glad to see that the third, and final, trilogy installment is coming in 2021 also. I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all ties together!
Thanks to the author for my obligation-free review copy.

5 out of 5 stars – Another great mystery!
After learning about her father’s identity as a Salesman in book 1, this time Emily sets on a new adventure to go after her mother, while the Fringe lingers in the shadows of the Empire, threatening Emily’s newly-found normality.
The whole cast from Door to Door is back, including reliable Rabbit and mysterious Templeton (my absolute favorite). I adore the character development in this book, as well as all the twists and magical elements that are typical to this series.
This book will make you smile and care deeply for all characters, and will keep your heart racing throughout the climax. After I finished, I couldn’t wait to start book 3 and devoured that too in less than two days.
T.L. Brown’s writing is magical and her worldbuilding is impressive. If you like cozy paranormal mysteries, this series is a MUST HAVE!
– Elen Chase, Author and Amazon / Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Another Fun and Mysterious Adventure
Writing a book is hard. Writing a well constructed cozy mystery is really hard. And writing the sequel to a great first in series is really, really hard. Thankfully, T.L. Brown was up to the challenge.
Through the Door is an exciting, adventurous and endearing story that picks up where Brown’s first book, Door to Door left off. We find the main character, Emily Swift, learning about her new skills in door travelling and attempting to perfect them. Little does she know, her timeline is short because her mother soon becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation and it’s up to Emily to rescue her—door travelling skills required.
Brown has the ability to make her characters’ actions and emotions come alive, so you’ll feel that you too are embarking upon a time-sensitive, dangerous investigation when you read Through the Door.
– Brook Peterson, Author and Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Hooked!
I keep protesting, “not my usual genre!” And yet, I am drawn deep into these books, having come to care about the protagonist and her merry bunch! Oh, Emily (who leads with her heart every time) DO be careful! The rich picture painted in every scene sucks me in and sets my heart pounding as the plot twists and turns, and the characters invade my thoughts throughout the day as I anticipate the evening’s chapter. What a grand ride!!!
– Lormeath, Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Suspense
This fast moving adventure is a great read. Emily’s intuition has come far since our introduction to her and I’m guessing we’re going to learn more about Lydia in the next book. I was happy to see a glimmer of hope for Emily and Jack’s future together. And will the mystery of Templeton be revealed? The author leaves us looking forward to the next one in this series.
– Marianne, Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars
Loved the quirky characters in this book. Kept me going until the very end.
– Tennille Gilreath, Goodreads reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – A wonderful adventure continues!
I set out to savor this second book in the Door to Door series. Instead I devoured it! TL Brown has done it again, creating a wonderfully vibrant adventure that I couldn’t put down and was sad when it ended! I truly understand what the term Cozy Mystery means now, and highly recommend to all!
– Susan Wood, Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – The right book!
I received a signed copy of Through the Door from the author. Book one was so magical, I had to jump right into the sequel. In book two we are thrust into another adventure when Emily’s mom, Lydia is missing. Emily springs into action, trying to unravel the mystery, without knowing what she is doing or testing the waters. And while she travels through the ‘right’ door to get from place to place, she often ends up making the wrong decisions. Like Emily would say, “Good Grief!”
Book two is a little darker, a little more mysterious, and a little more magical. Brown’s writing is so campy and fun that this was a real page-turner for me. I can see Emily will learn a lot of lessons in book three and I expect a lot of secrets to unfold. Okay, T.L. Brown. I’m ready for more Templeton!
– Jessica Cantwell, Young Adult author and Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Even more inventive than the first book!
I recently read the first book in this series (Door to Door) and immediately moved on to book number 2. I was told my favorite character had more of a starring role (sorry Templeton) in this book, so I just had to dive in. And boy am I glad I did!
Action-packed and just as inventive – if not more so – than the first book, Brown takes the reader on a whirlwind escapade filled with even more quirky characters to love! But my favorite remains Rabbit. Which Rabbit? Sorry, Emily, but I’m going to call him MY Rabbit now.
While we learn more and more about Emily’s gift and the Salesmen and the Empire, there is still a lot of intrigue, and the introduction of a powerful entity really upped the stakes! I am looking forward to the 3rd in this series!
– Jennifer Brasington-Crowley, Romance author and Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – Magic, mayhem, complex characters, and an engaging storyline… I loved this book!
Through the Door, T.L. Brown’s sequel to Door to Door, is a brilliant continuation of the Door to Door Mystery series. Magic, mayhem, complex characters, and an engaging storyline… Through the Door was unputdownable!
If you haven’t read Door to Door or Through the Door, add them to your TBR list.
– Shari T. Mitchell, Mystery author and Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – If you liked book one, you’ll love book two!
Through the Door is the second in the Door to Door series. I dived in having only just finished the first, and I’m glad I did. I loved Door to Door but I think Through the Door is even better, more snippets of the backstory are revealed and there’s more intrigue. I mean, just who is Templeton and what is his end goal? I enjoyed learning more about Emily’s mum, and who she is. That was a nice little twist because I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that included a… well, I won’t say what she is because I don’t want to spoil the book for you. All I’ll say is that if you liked book one in this series, you’ll love book two.
– Rachel Stanley, Romance author and Amazon reviewer
5 out of 5 stars – A must-read for cozy mystery fans!
Through The Door is the second instalment of the Door To Door series of cozy mysteries. If you loved the first book, this one should definitely be on the top of your To Be Read pile!
The twists and turns wil keep you guessing throughout, and you’ll be reading way past your bedtime as you figure out the mysteries within. With both Emily and those she loves in danger, she must take monumental risks and put everything on the line to right the wrongs – and place her trust in the hands of someone she deems unworthy of it.
The author immediately immerses you in the magical world, and which the reader learns about alongside Emily. The characters are like old friends, and the action-packed climax will have you on the edge of your seat. There’s also a cliffhanger that’ll have you desperate to read the last book in the series!

Peti Kis
Peti Kis appears in Through the Door. He owns the Peti Kis Gallery in Vue. He has a verbal altercation with Lydia McKay Swift.
Stats
Emily Swift describes Peti in book two:
A short man stood with his arms crossed, an easel and canvas on the ground at his feet. Sunlight bounced off his blond head…
Tuesday goes on to describe Peti as:
“…a horrible person with a lot of money and power here in Vue. He owns one of the most popular galleries in the city, but I find some of the art he endorses lacking in spirit. Still, if you want to skyrocket to success as an artist, Peti’s gallery has made some of the biggest names in the Empire. Speedy
Speedy is the nickname given to a man by Tara Parker-Jones after she and Emily Swift unexpectedly meet him in the train station in Anwat. He appears in the second book of the series, Through the Door.
He is a rather unpleasant man and drives too fast – hence, the nickname.
Stats
Emily observes:
I noted a young man in dark, fitted jeans and a denim jacket slouching against the station wall. He was of average height, with black hair. In his hand he held a cell phone. He appeared to be texting. A Rabbit?
I quickly crossed the room. “Hey,” I began, “sorry to bother you, but I’m hoping you can help.”
Dark eyes flicked up from his phone before looking me up and down. “Yeah, what do you want?”

Sebastian St. Michel
Sebastian St. Michel (villain) first appears in the second book of the series, Through the Door.
It is revealed he is a Salesman. The reader learns he comes from an old, moneyed family in the Empire. He wields considerable power.
Sebastian returns in book three, Doors Wide Open, as a dangerous and violent adversary.
In book three, Emily describes Sebastian as “unhinged as ever.”
Sebastian also makes an appearance in the Bellerose Witchline Series.
Stats
Sebastian is ~40 in the series. He’s described as tall.
Emily Swift describes him in Through the Door:
Sebastian was disturbingly attractive, with wavy brown hair so dark it was almost black. It hung down a breath below his collar. Thick eyelashes framed heavy-lidded, brown eyes. The devilish smile hadn’t left his lips. A wicked, yet perfectly groomed, mustache and goatee accented the olive skin of his face. The Van Dyke didn’t make him look like a ridiculous hipster. Instead, he looked like a rock star…
In Doors Wide Open, Emily observes:
Sebastian hadn’t changed much since I last saw him. His wavy dark hair was still longish, covering his collar. The 5 o’clock shadow supporting a slight mustache and small goatee still worked. He wore a black leather jacket over his white shirt. His boots took his height well over six feet.

Rabbits and the Rabbit Network
Rabbits (or the Rabbit network) reside in the Salesman Empire.
All Rabbits are called… Rabbit.
What They Are
Anne Lace describes the Rabbits in book one:
“The best way to describe the Rabbits, well, they’re sort of a group of informal dealers in information. They’re unusual like the Salesmen are unusual. But there’s no central structure, and they end up being quite the nomadic creatures. Not quite gypsies, and incredibly well-connected to one another. They are also notoriously hard to find unless they want to be found.”
In book one, Emily observes during a conversation with “her Rabbit“:
His phone buzzed. He dug it from his pocket to read the feed. Wait a minute…
“How come your phone works?” I frowned. “I didn’t think there were any towers here.”
“Who needs a tower?” He tapped a message into his phone.
Emily Swift describes “her Rabbit” and “the Rabbits” in book two:
But Rabbit had no real address. None of the Rabbits did. You couldn’t just message a Rabbit. Unless you were a Rabbit. They have an awesome network.

Nisha
Nisha first appears in the second book of the series, Through the Door.
It is implied she lives in the Empire – specifically Matar.
Stats
She is described by Emily Swift:
“She wore a thin, silver dress over her shapely figure. Sleeveless, it clung to her curves, flowing softly over her hips, and swirling around her ankles. She was barefoot, with several silver rings adorning her toes. Her skin was the color of polished onyx, and a large dark stone sat in a thick necklace at her throat. The color of midnight, her long, straight hair cascaded over her shoulders, reaching her waist. Her eyes were framed by thick eyelashes, guarding pitch-black pools. Full lips were painted a red so deep it was almost black. The woman towered over me.”
She is described by Rabbit:
“She’s a Priestess… …Nisha comes from a very old line of magic. Even by Empire standards she’s otherworldly.”

But at night, a thick batch of blooms rise out of the leaves. The purple flowers are protective of whatever they’ve been planted to guard. If anyone should dare to cross over them, they puff out a little powder. Once inhaled, the intruder is put into a long, deep sleep. Quickly.”

Magical Objects
The Split
The Split is first referenced in The Book (the late Daniel Swift‘s travel journal) given to his daughter Emily Swift on her thirtieth birthday.
Anne Lace describes to Emily Swift:
“The Split is a fancy way of describing the separation between the older, more traditional Salesmen of the Empire, and the newer Salesmen who wanted to make sweeping changes. It’s significant because they did not usually work together. The division weakened the Salesmen. If your father could have bridged the gap between the two sides, things might have turned out very differently.”

Events
Eve of Silence
The Eve of Silence, also known as EoS, is first referenced in The Book (the late Daniel Swift‘s travel journal) given to his daughter Emily Swift on her thirtieth birthday.
Anne Lace describes to Emily:
“The Eve of Silence, as it came to be called, happened about a week before your father (Daniel Swift) was killed… …the Fringe was becoming more and more aggressive. The Salesman Court was pressured to act. They planned to vote on a ruling approving yearly review and broadening the scope of ‘reasonable expulsion.’ The night before it would have passed there was a mass slaughter of Salesmen who influenced or sat on the Court. The next day, when Court reopened, there was no one on the bench. The Court had been effectively silenced, hence the name, Eve of Silence.”
“Your father (Daniel Swift) was one of three justices (Petrovich, Spell, Swift) who survived the attack. He wasn’t in Matar that night.”

He voted against approving Emily Swift for door travel as she engaged in unauthorized door travel prior to seeking recognition as a Salesman by the Court, but did not rule out recognition in the future. He expressed an interest in learning more about Emily’s experience. He is a serious and reasonable justice.
He appears in both books one (Door to Door) and two (Through the Door) of the series.

He is described by Rabbit as: “The Tortoise is a Rabbit, a very old one.”

Crimson Stone
A magical gemstone (also called an “elemental gem”) hidden in the Salesman Empire. It contains absolute power.
Emily Swift, Templeton, and the Fringe race each other to find it in book one of the series, Door to Door.
From Door to Door, a conversation between Emily and Rene Blackstone, Record Keeper and Warden of the North Door:
“What happens if they (The Fringe) find it?” I asked.
Blackstone turned tired eyes toward me. “They’d have absolute power to rule any world they wanted to. Nothing could stop them.”

The Book
Daniel Swift‘s travel journal provided to his daughter Emily Swift on her thirtieth birthday.
Also known as: “The Book, capital T, capital B.”
Emily describes her father’s journal:
The old book was heavy and thick. The bluish cover was worn with a faded, gold-embossed ‘S’ pressed into the center…
…Then I noticed the lock. It reminded me of those old drugstore diaries with a tiny lock and key designed to keep out snooping siblings and nosy mothers.
The book was a treasure trove of sketches, hand-drawn maps, and a lot of departure and arrival dates. Some pages consisted of nothing but strings of numbers… …handwritten notes about the places my father traveled to, the people he met – or planned to meet – and even some of the items he picked up on these trips. The word ‘Delivered’ was written by shipments ranging from tea to jewelry. Other pages contained lists with cryptic notes jotted in the margins such as: ‘Not available after The Split’ or ‘Available to Senior Salesmen only.’
Emily’s best friend and rare book expert Tara Parker-Jones observes during her examination:
“The book is five and a half inches by seven inches and three inches thick.”
“Worn blue cover, fabric, with a gold embossed ‘S’ … …No marks on spine. No other embossment or lettering on the outside of book. The book is sealed shut by a small brass lock. Lock is very old and tarnished, but seems to be sturdy… …Blank pages in beginning of book. No publisher or copyright information. As expected, the book appears to be a journal. The pages are aged, some yellowing – nothing appreciable. They are not brittle. Pages appear to be made from cotton fibers.”

Door Travel
Door travel (door traveling) is conducted only by Salesmen in the Salesman Empire.
Door travel allows Salesman to travel from place-to-place or even world-to-world simply by stepping through the “right” door.
Salesman Emily Swift explains:
I learned that the “right” door was not necessarily a door leading to one specific place at all times. No, the ‘right’ door was simply the door you could more strongly tune into and travel through.
If there were five doors on a wall, any door might take me to my favorite restaurant, but it was dependent upon which door I could connect with in the moment. I could go through door three and travel to Buffalo. I could use the same door and travel to Anne’s coffee shop in downtown Kincaid.
Door travel wasn’t without limitations, however. Salesmen weren’t allowed to door travel into restricted places. In other words, visiting the White House without permission was a big no-no.
