The Door to Door Paranormal Mystery Series has earned great reviews from Goodreads and Amazon readers.

Merciful heavens, but Emily’s life is getting more confusing by the minute!
In this second installment in the Door to Door series, T.L. Brown throws us right into the thick of things from the opening pages. With her characteristic wit and humor, we find ourselves right back in the world of doors and magical objects and people who are definitely not all that they seem… This book brings out a lot more history – of Emily’s mother, of The Fringe, and of the magic that infuses the Empire. It really enriches the running storyline behind Emily’s quest to learn more about her father’s life – and, surprisingly to her, her mother’s! – and the world(s) that they inhabited, unbeknownst to Emily. I particularly enjoyed finally learning more about Lydia. She’s an enigmatic but loveable presence in the first book, and watching her story unfold in this second was a joy and a pleasure. She’s everything I imagined and more, and her personality permeates this installment.
I thoroughly enjoyed the new cast of characters – both friend and foe – and the ambiguity behind which is which. The carryover characters, particularly Rabbit and Tara, enjoyed additional focus and depth this time around – much to my delight – and are definitely shaping into formidable presences in their own right. And of course, there was more Templeton! For most of the book, he’s more of a lurker-in-the-background, but even when he appears to be laying low you *have* to know that he has his fingers in every available pie and is quietly playing his cards to optimal effect.
The plot in this one is, by necessity, more of a slow-build – at least as far as the long-game story is concerned. That’s the job of a second book in a trilogy, after all, and that is a job handily met and dispensed with here. But make no mistake – this is no plodding fill-the-gaps book. It is an adventure full of giggles and gasps and everything in between. Brown has a marvelous ability to write in a voice that feels like classic straightforward storytelling even while layering in deception, secrets, and mysteries long-held and long misunderstood. It makes for a read that is easy to fall into and feels deceptively simple – right up until some new element is parsed out and the plot, as they say, thickens. It makes the book a heck of a romp and one you won’t want to put down until it’s finished!
I’m so glad to see that the third, and final, trilogy installment is coming in 2021 also. I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all ties together!

5 out of 5 stars – Another Fun and Mysterious Adventure
Writing a book is hard. Writing a well constructed cozy mystery is really hard. And writing the sequel to a great first in series is really, really hard. Thankfully, T.L. Brown was up to the challenge.
Through the Door is an exciting, adventurous and endearing story that picks up where Brown’s first book, Door to Door left off. We find the main character, Emily Swift, learning about her new skills in door travelling and attempting to perfect them. Little does she know, her timeline is short because her mother soon becomes the prime suspect in a murder investigation and it’s up to Emily to rescue her—door travelling skills required.
Brown has the ability to make her characters’ actions and emotions come alive, so you’ll feel that you too are embarking upon a time-sensitive, dangerous investigation when you read Through the Door.

5 out of 5 stars – Hooked!
I keep protesting, “not my usual genre!” And yet, I am drawn deep into these books, having come to care about the protagonist and her merry bunch! Oh, Emily (who leads with her heart every time) DO be careful! The rich picture painted in every scene sucks me in and sets my heart pounding as the plot twists and turns, and the characters invade my thoughts throughout the day as I anticipate the evening’s chapter. What a grand ride!!!

5 out of 5 stars – Suspense
This fast moving adventure is a great read. Emily’s intuition has come far since our introduction to her and I’m guessing we’re going to learn more about Lydia in the next book. I was happy to see a glimmer of hope for Emily and Jack’s future together. And will the mystery of Templeton be revealed? The author leaves us looking forward to the next one in this series.

5 out of 5 stars – A wonderful adventure continues!
I set out to savor this second book in the Door to Door series. Instead I devoured it! TL Brown has done it again, creating a wonderfully vibrant adventure that I couldn’t put down and was sad when it ended! I truly understand what the term Cozy Mystery means now, and highly recommend to all!

5 out of 5 stars – The right book!
I received a signed copy of Through the Door from the author. Book one was so magical, I had to jump right into the sequel. In book two we are thrust into another adventure when Emily’s mom, Lydia is missing. Emily springs into action, trying to unravel the mystery, without knowing what she is doing or testing the waters. And while she travels through the ‘right’ door to get from place to place, she often ends up making the wrong decisions. Like Emily would say, “Good Grief!”
Book two is a little darker, a little more mysterious, and a little more magical. Brown’s writing is so campy and fun that this was a real page-turner for me. I can see Emily will learn a lot of lessons in book three and I expect a lot of secrets to unfold. Okay, T.L. Brown. I’m ready for more Templeton!

4 out of 5 stars
Over the last year, I’ve grown rather fond of cozy mysteries. Sometimes though, one stands out, and this is one of those times. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and it was a lucky win indeed. Shortly after I started reading it, I purchased the first book in the series as I immediately knew I would want to read more of Emily. I absolutely loved the quirky characters and the fun aspects of the story, but more than that, I was happy to find good writing and a solid mystery. If you’re looking for a little escapism and an imaginative storyline with characters you will genuinely like, then this one fits the bill. I will be looking for book three to be sure!
